Following the coast to the right you reach the Roman Astura, landing at the mouth of the river of the same name located along the Via Severiana, home to villas since the 1st century BC. One of these belonged to Cicero. On the site, between the end of the Republic and the beginning of the Imperial age, a villa was built, partly on the mainland and partly on an artificial island, equipped with a large fish pond, the remains of which are still partly visible (the fortress was then built on the walls in the sea in about 1200).
