Overlooking the Gulf of Panzano, Marina Julia is the main seaside resort of Monfalcone, known for its dual nature that combines family relaxation and sporting adrenaline. Its beach is distinguished by its shallow, sandy seabed, ideal for families, but it is above all internationally famous as a true paradise for windsurfing and kitesurfing enthusiasts. Thanks to the particular exposure to winds, such as the Bora and the Maestrale, its waters come alive with colorful sails throughout the year. Behind the coastline extends a valuable natural environment, where the wetlands host rich birdlife, making the area perfect for regenerating walks between the sea and nature. With its modern accommodation facilities, water parks, and wide views stretching towards the cliffs of Duino, Marina Julia represents a dynamic and welcoming landmark for those seeking an active holiday on the Adriatic coast.

The round trip, approximately 14 km long and completely flat, can be completed in just over an hour and leads through some of the most impressive landscapes of Friuli-Venezia Giulia. It is part of the AdriaBike cycle path, which connects the Slovenian Alps and lakes with the beaches and lagoons of the Adriatic Sea over a length of 1000 km.

The further it goes towards the coast and the sea, the quieter and more natural it becomes.

A top-notch asphalt cycle path along the dam next to the Adriatic Sea. Alternatively, the dam itself can also be used.

Nice passage to cross the Isonzo. Given the very narrow tracks and the constant amount of traffic, I recommend crossing via the pedestrian bridges on the sides.

The Luigi Tenco cycle path is one of the projects that are part of the “Ciclabili dei cantautori” (Cycle paths of the singer-songwriters), an urban network of routes linked to the names of great Italian singer-songwriters. This section, approximately 1.5 km long, connects the urban area in the direction of Cassegliano. It was inaugurated in 2018, together with the one dedicated to Fabrizio De Andrè (Faber), a connecting route to Begliano. In September 2019, a third cycle path followed, named after Giorgio Gaber, which leads to the trails of the Parco Comunale dell’Isonzo. Of particular interest is “El Corridor”, a work created with recycled objects by the artist Giuliano Cecone. For these promotion and valorization initiatives, in the same year Turriaco received the recognition of Comune Ciclabile (Cycle-friendly Municipality). Between 2021 and 2024, two further routes were created: the one dedicated to Mia Martini (Mimì), which branches off from the one named after Giorgio Gaber, and the one dedicated to Raffaella Carrà (Carrà), which connects via Marconi with via Oberdan.
