A beautiful spot to slow down and relax. The lake shore offers a large meadow where you can enjoy a nap and the tranquillity of nature. You can even catch some fish here.

At Tilst in Aarhus, you can see the trolls Simon and Anine, made from reclaimed wood by artist Thomas Dambo. Wooden art and troll by artist Thomas Dambo When a storm destroyed the original sculpture "Simon Selvgjort" (The Self-Made Simon), 14-year-old Anine took matters into her own hands and raised money to have the troll recreated. This was a success, and today, Simon the troll sits carving a friend, who was named Anine. The trolls Simon and Anine | VisitAarhus https://share.google/jShetPUKG3mSlciev

Beautiful small church, nice path leads to the village. I started my hike in the Geding-Kasted area here.

A special feature of the church are the two checkerboard stones: a stone on the east side of the portal in the vestibule. 2nd row above the floor a stone on the southeast corner of the choir

The church in Tilst was built around 1170 on an old sun worship site in Romanesque style. It consisted of a chancel and nave built of granite blocks. The late Gothic west tower and the porch on the south side were added in the late 1400s/early 1500s.

The bog was used for grazing cattle for many years which was maintained by a local group of volunteers. Since the 2010s the bog is a rewilding project with Galloway cattle, Belties, water buffalo and wild horses. According to Wikipedia Geding-Kasted Bog is one of the most important catchment areas for the water supply in Aarhus Municipality and the city of Aarhus. Is said to be a great spot for birding.
