Beautiful park in Weimar, a drive-through is worthwhile. Please watch out for pedestrians.

Particularly striking about the double house are the asymmetrically arranged gables. Today's Cranach House actually consists of two formerly separate residential buildings, which were optically connected in the 16th century (around 1547 to 1549) through a joint renovation and a uniform facade design. Since the original floor plans and the supporting walls of the two old houses were preserved, the gables could not simply be pushed "mathematically" into the middle of the new overall facade. Instead, they were placed above the respective axes of the original building parts.

The Schillerhaus appears to be very well preserved. It is obvious that great efforts are being made to give the impression that Friedrich Schiller still lives there.

The Cranach House on Weimar's market square is an important example of the early Renaissance, where Lucas Cranach the Elder lived with his son and ran a workshop until his death in 1553. The famous altarpiece for the city church of St. Peter and Paul was also created here, while today the building houses the "Theater im Gewölbe" (Theater in the Vault), a small-scale performance venue.
