A lively little town with history. A beautiful church on the market square; there's also Cafe Reinhold: a good breakfast on the terrace.

Unfortunately, I have to agree with the poor maintenance of the bike paths. The scenic tour is highly recommended. Halfway through the tour, two of our bikes sustained damage. Luckily, there was an alternative train station for the return journey. With sturdy bikes, the area is a highlight.

Because of the shallow water, you can find viable ice in the shore region very early on⛸️

A small bathing area with a sandy bay. The jetty is unfortunately closed at the moment, but the water of the lake is crystal clear and inviting for a swim.

A word about the cycle paths in North Brandenburg: They are all very scenic. But they are not looked after enough. After five years they become annoying when roots break, after ten years they are catastrophic and force you to take the road if possible. Even technically high-quality bikes cannot handle the heavy impacts. So: either a mountain bike or a really solid old bike with a steel frame.
