We were at the marina and had a rest there. Unfortunately, if we had known about this place, we would have stopped here. It's beautifully situated by the water. A great place.

The “Fat Pine” is about 150 years old. Take a little time to admire this mighty witness to history.

The path here leads along impressive alders, willows and maple trees. Fallen giants or trees that have grown into unusual shapes are impressive testaments to the endless cycle of life and transience. Sometimes you are treated to beautiful views of the Ellbogensee and sometimes you immerse yourself in the shady sections of the floodplain forest.

You can expect a diverse landscape typical of the Mecklenburg Lake District, featuring tranquil lakes, dense forests, and open meadows. Many trails, like the Primeval Forest Trail Priepert, wind through 'primeval' sections with mighty alder, willow, and maple trees, offering alternating views of the Ellbogensee and immersive floodplain forests.
Yes, there are several excellent circular routes. For example, the Priepert Primeval Forest Trail – Picnic Shelter With Lake View loop from Priepert is a moderate option that combines natural beauty with a pleasant lakeside stop. Another great choice is the Priepert Lakeside – Picnic Shelter With Lake View loop from Priepert, which also offers scenic views.
Along the trails, you can discover several charming points of interest. The Half-timbered church in Priepert is a picturesque village church, and the Havel Bridge, Priepert offers scenic views of the river. Nature lovers will appreciate the 'Dicke Kiefer' (Thick Pine) on the Primeval Forest Trail, an impressive 150-year-old tree.
While many trails are generally easy, the 'primeval' sections and natural paths might not always be ideal for all types of strollers, especially those with smaller wheels. We recommend checking individual route details for surface information. Many paths are natural trails through meadows and forests.
