Former Kahle Höhe Church, now a burial chapel. In Reichstädt. Information: Until its demolition in 1872, the pilgrimage church "To the Fourteen Holy Helpers," first mentioned in 1320, stood here. Demolished in 1872 due to its dilapidated condition, the burial chapel was built in the Neo-Gothic style in 1902 on almost the same site. Not far from Kahle Höhe (589 m).

Frauenstein Town Church "Our Lady" Information: It stands in the center of the market square. A memorial stone commemorates the year the first town church was built, 1491. The church was destroyed in the third town fire in 1869, and the new building, a single-nave church, was completed in 1873.

The ruins of Frauenstein Castle are located on a 680-meter-high granite porphyry rock on the ridge of the Eastern Ore Mountains near the town of Frauenstein in the district of Central Saxony. See: https://de.wikipedia.org/wiki/Burg_Frauenstein_(Erzgebirge)

Kahle-Höhen Church The legendary pilgrimage church "Zu den vierzehn Nothelfern" (To the Fourteen Helpers in Need), first mentioned in 1390, stood here until its demolition in 1872. The church, closed since the Reformation, was reconsecrated for Protestant services in 1593. A memorial stone from 1874 commemorates the church. After it was demolished in 1872 due to dilapidation, Euphrosina von Schönberg had this neo-Gothic crypt chapel built on almost the same site in 1908. It served as a hereditary burial site for the Reichstadt manor of Schönberg. In 1983/84, it was extensively renovated by the Reichstädt parish. Today, the upper room is used for services in the summer. Every year on Whit Monday, many visitors from near and far come to Kahle Höhe for the traditional festival service. Source: Plaque

Delicious ice cream in a beautiful setting, but be sure to check the opening hours in advance: the café isn't open every day and then only from 1 p.m.
