Guido Häfner's 2022 sculpture "Guardian" – with a spectacular view (perfect photo opportunity!) of Hambach Castle "The imposing stelae made of solid Corten steel make a striking statement in their surroundings. The rusted surface of the material lends the sculptures a rustic yet modern aesthetic, which is further enhanced by their prominent presence. In the stylized form of the guardian or wanderer, the viewer is invited to reflect on the meaning of preservation and protection. The fragmented, negated figure offers the possibility of becoming part of the sculpture oneself and thus developing a personal relationship with the art. The message of the sculptures is thus brought to a very personal level and encourages the viewer to commit to the beauty and preservation of nature."
