Tips from the Community

Simone Mossi

A refuge at the foot of the Carisole Valley, easily accessible from the Sambuzza Valley. An excellent destination for a hike, a delicious lunch, and then a quick descent back to Carona. Top-notch traditional cuisine from chef Andrea, who even late at night welcomed us with a warm smile and one of the best taragne I've ever eaten! The cakes are also delicious!

A stopover and refreshment point before climbing to Lago Moro or Corno Stella. The self-service kitchen is excellent, with cakes that are out of this world. The terrace offers a breathtaking view.

A small, abandoned Alpine cabin. This ruin tells the story of the place, but it can also be used as a shelter in bad weather (be careful of the unstable parts).

A beautiful peak offering a 360° view of the surrounding mountain ranges, starting from the Arera massif.

A beautiful Alpine hut used as a shelter by shepherds during the summer. It offers a wonderful view of the Arera and Menna mountains. In case of sudden bad weather, it can be a shelter—not inside, as it is enclosed, but thanks to its overhanging roofs and woodshed.

A small, non-perennial pool, during wetter periods it transforms into a small pond rich in biodiversity and a great place to quench dogs' thirst. Drinking water is also possible after filtering it with special systems.
