City rights - Tuchola probably received its first location, still under Polish law, at the turn of the 13th and 14th centuries. However, the well-known location privilege for Tuchola, confirmed in writing, was issued in Malbork on July 22, 1346. Grand Master Henryk Dusemer granted the city the privilege of Chełmno law. At that time, Tuchola consisted of two main parts, i.e. the city and the castle. The buildings inside the city were mainly made of wood, and the brick buildings included the Gothic parish church of St. Bartholomew and the town hall. The castle complex was also almost entirely made of brick. Both the city and the castle were surrounded by defensive walls and a system of moats.

Interesting, authentic buildings with several "fillings", especially in the evening, reflect the atmosphere of this place.
