Tips from the Community

Sabine
August 5, 2026, Rheinschlucht Viewing Platform

Just a few minutes above Versam is the Islabord viewing platform. The freely projecting viewing balcony offers an impressive view of the steep rock faces of the Rhine Gorge, several hundred meters high, and the turquoise-green Vorderrhein deep down in the valley. From here, the immense dimension of the Ruinaulta can be particularly well recognized. The platform is reachable in a few minutes' walk from the parking lot and is therefore also excellently suited for visitors who do not want to undertake a longer hike. Information boards provide interesting facts about the formation of the Rhine Gorge, which was created by the massive Flims rockslide about 10,000 years ago.
