The Raten mountain – at 1077m – high above Lake Ägeri offers a fantastic view of our mountains. The Restaurant Raten is highly recommended: The atmosphere is lovely and cozy, the service is friendly, and the food is delicious. It has a large parking lot, which is also a good starting point for hikes. Parking is subject to a fee daily from 8:00 am to 6:00 pm.

Great views, first of Lake Zug, then of Menzingen and the hinterland, and further of Lake Ägeri, and over to Rigi. Finally, a beautiful view from the Raten Pass, and on the descent via the saddle, the Kleine and Grosse Mythen, with Schwyz and the mountains in the background for dessert.

This long cycleway has an excellent asphalted service with a smooth pavement and runs the entire length from Birmensdorf to Zug. Each side of the cycleway is dotted with mountains. In any event great for seasoned cyclists.
