This is the start of the cycle path that takes you out from Copenhagen city along the waterside. From here south, you are on either asphalt or gravel cycle trails. There are good views of some nice architecture around the area and across the water. In addition, there is a great little cafe/restaurant here too. We had coffee on the way out and beer on the way back 13 days later.

The Drachenbrunnen (Dragespringvandet) on Copenhagen City Hall Square is a monument of bronze and granite, designed by Joakim Skovgaard and Thorvald Bindesbøll. The fountain basin is lined with water-spouting dragons and lizards, which, according to an anecdote, were intended to intimidate citizens with complaints when entering the City Hall. After several relocations and a renovation during the subway construction, the fountain was fully reopened in the center of the square in June 2023.

The famous Dragon Fountain stands in the middle of the Town Hall Square in Copenhagen and features a fighting bull and dragon as its central motif. The artwork was designed by Joakim Skovgaard and Thorvald Bindesbøll, with the inauguration being delayed for several years until 1923 after some back and forth. After several relocations and an extensive renovation, the fine piece has been standing smartly restored in its place again since 2023.

The path is not paved, at least not the entire route. It's a good path to get out of the city quickly: you ride along the shore the whole time and have wonderful views over the water again and again.

The Danish National Gallery is located here. It is the country's largest art museum. Very well accessible by train through Österport.
