It was really fun to try out the old bikes. A lovely opportunity to take a short break, have coffee and cake, and look around the old house a bit.

Emmaus Church is a free parish church in Kerteminde with a branch in Dalby. It was built in 1868 and consecrated on January 24, 1869. The builder was Hansen from Svendborg. The church is a yellow brick building in the shape of a cross with a jagged gables and a tower. The altarpiece is by J.P. Bless from 1869 and depicts the disciples in Emmaus after Marstrand's painting of the Fåborg Church. A beautiful granite baptismal font is located in the church. There is a garden surrounding the church, which also houses the rectory. A memorial plaque on the church wall states the following: Ole Henrik Svane lived here from 1814 to 1825. He dedicated his work to the blessing of Christian life in Kerteminde and the surrounding area. The congregation, which erected this memorial to him, bears witness to this. The plaque originally hung above the door of the house at Langegade 39. However, it was removed when the house was remodeled. The congregation wanted to preserve the plaque and therefore placed it next to the church. Kerteminde North Beach | Funen's Best Beach The North Beach is the most popular beach in Kerteminde. People flock to the beach from near and far to enjoy the fresh seawater of the Great Belt. The beach is mainly sandy, while the beach further north, towards Hindsholmvej, is lined with beautiful villas. Grass and beach reeds grow there. The North Beach is a distinctive sandy beach with many sandbanks. This means that the water only gets deep further out from the beach. This makes the beach very child-friendly. Approximately in the middle of the beach is a parking lot and a kiosk selling various refreshments. In the southern part of the beach is a miniature golf course. There is also a bathing jetty, courts for beach volleyball and handball, and, of course, restrooms. A smooth bike path runs alongside the road on the beach, where you can cycle with beautiful views of the beach. https://www.visitkerteminde.de/kerteminde/reiseplanung/kerteminde-nordstrand-gdk613494

Munkebo Hill A Viking Age power center with perhaps the most beautiful view of Funen and the experience is free. A family of Viking kings from Funen lived on Munkebo Hill. Archaeological excavations have revealed a settlement here, a power center from the late Iron Age and Viking Age (ca. 550-950 AD) at the top of the hill. Several Viking Age houses, pit houses, and a mighty "King's Hall" surrounded by a strong wooden wall have been found. From here, the King of Ladby could control the surrounding landscape, overlooking Odense Fjord, Kertinge Nor, and the Great Belt. At the top of the observation tower, you are 58 meters above sea level, and you have fantastic views in all directions. The Viking Age and the region's history are told through posters at the information center or can be experienced through play. The information center has a restroom with wheelchair access. Bakken has many tables and benches where you can enjoy your packed lunch or coffee in beautiful surroundings. https://www.visitkerteminde.dk/kerteminde/planlaeg-din-tur/munkebo-bakke-gdk739069

There's no gravel path here, but a narrow paved road along the beach. You definitely can't ride a bike on the pebble beach!
