The statue of the famous king and leader was erected in Thessaloniki in 1973 on the newly created Nea Paralia, a huge square with a park that touches the seaside promenade right next to Thessaloniki's most famous landmark, the White Tower. The bronze equestrian statue is located just a few meters from the sea and faces south-east. The equestrian statue of King Alexander the Great is 6 meters high and placed on a 5-meter pedestal made of dark marble. The statue stands on a surface of white marble for contrast. The area around the statue is very popular with both tourists and locals, and crowds of people gather here especially at sunset. https://www.cestee.pl/cele-podrozy/grecja/saloniki/posag-aleksandra-wielkiego

The building is built of red stone and beautifully decorated with marble reliefs. Of particular note are the bas-reliefs depicting battle scenes and Emperor Galerius riding a horse into the cheering city. At the very bottom are figures of Nike-Victoria carrying war trophies. https://miastaeuropy.com/grecja/luk-triumfalny-galeriusza-saloniki

The Triumphal Arch of Emperor Galerius (known as Kamara) was probably built around 305 to celebrate the victory of the tetrarch Galerius over the Sassanid Persians and the capture of their capital Ctesiphon in 297. The arch, stretching over the Via Egnatia, was once formed by four pillars (two survive to this day). In the past, the arch was connected to the Rotunda by a processional path (the embankment remains to this day), which together with the hippodrome and the palace complex (comparable to Diocletian's Palace in Split) formed a single whole (you can only see their remains, as well as restored floor mosaics). The arch stands on one of the largest and most popular streets in Thessaloniki – Egnatia. https://zamki.rotmanka.com/portfolio/grecja-saloniki-luk-triumfalny-cesarza-galeriusza/
