A refuge located in the heart of the northern Grigna, also known as Grignone. The refuge is an ideal stopover for those wishing to reach the Brioschi refuge, at the summit of Grignone, or for other itineraries in the heart of Grigna, such as the via ferrata or the Elisa refuge. To reach it, you pass through the famous Porta di Prada, an iconic passage that makes the hike even more evocative. At the same time, the refuge is a perfect destination for a more tranquil hike: here you can enjoy the refuge's excellent cuisine and enjoy the breathtaking views from its panoramic location, complete with a large lawn where you can relax and unwind.

Trail EE. Nothing too difficult except for the steep slopes and a secured section. Always be careful, especially on scree.

This trail, in my opinion, is less technical than the Foppe trail, but it does have an exposed section in a gully. This section isn't difficult, and the rocks offer plenty of handholds and excellent grip, even when wet; it's equipped with a rope. This short, dangerous section has earned the trail an EE rating.

For families with toddlers, look for trails with minimal elevation gain and smooth paths. Areas like the lower sections around Piani d'Erna (accessible by cable car) or the nature reserve of Monte Barro offer gentler walks. While specific 'toddler-friendly' routes vary, many of the easy trails can be adapted for shorter distances or with carriers.
Spring and autumn generally offer the most pleasant conditions for family hiking in Lecco, with mild temperatures and beautiful scenery. Arriving early, especially on weekends, is recommended to secure a spot.
While popular spots attract many, exploring trails in the Monte Barro Nature Reserve can offer a quieter experience with rich biodiversity and panoramic views. Another option could be lesser-known paths around Mount Legnoncino, which provides a rewarding experience without the crowds of the more famous peaks.
Layered clothing is always recommended due to changing mountain weather. Comfortable hiking shoes with good grip are essential. Depending on the season, bring rain gear, sun protection (hat, sunscreen), and plenty of water. For cooler months, a warm jacket and hat are advisable, even on easier trails.
