The castle overlooks the picturesque village of Larochette, giving it a very special character. The first buildings on this site date back to the 11th century and are situated on a promontory of Luxembourg sandstone, dominating the valley of the Blanche Ernz, a tributary of the Sûre, by about 50 meters. A fire in 1565 reduced all the buildings on the site to ruins. The house in Créhange is the only one to have been restored in a more consistent manner in the 1980s. Temporary art exhibitions and occasional concerts fill the historic walls with life. Last admission is around 5:15 PM. Nearest parking: on the grounds, at the entrance. Nearest bus stop: Larochette, Spuerkeess (300 m)

Lots of steps and walking between rocks. But ideal for a short walk, perhaps with children.

Directly next to the carved text Hexelee there is a narrow rock passage that invites you to walk through.
