The entire Mattersburg train station was modernized in December 2015 and made barrier-free with 3 lifts, the station building was renovated and the interior was redesigned. Modern disabled toilet facilities were built for this purpose. A total of 208 parking spaces will be available in future at the Park&Ride facility – 6 of which are for the disabled and 6 for families. From Vienna you can be in Mattersburg in about an hour and you can easily start from here to southern Bgl or to Hungary.

For centuries, the cemetery in Mattersburg served as a burial place for one of the oldest Jewish communities in what is now Burgenland. Heavily destroyed during the Nazi era, its thousands of graves still bear witness to the once flourishing community.
