The trail leads right along the bank of the Drau river, which has an incredible turquoise-green color in this part. The path is completely separated from car traffic, perfectly flat, and covered with perfect asphalt. On one side you have the rushing water, on the other the massive, vertical walls of the Karawanks. Built around the 12th century as a strategic checkpoint over the crossing of the Drava river and the trade route to the Loibl Pass. The structure survived the massive earthquake of 1348, Turkish invasions, and a fire caused by a lightning strike. At the end of the 16th century, the Dietrichstein family rebuilt it in the Renaissance style, adding, among other things, a beautiful courtyard with two-story arcades. Interestingly, since 1913, the castle has belonged to the famous Wittgenstein family (from which the brilliant philosopher Ludwig Wittgenstein came). Although the interiors are private and rarely accessible, the gate and towers look amazing from below and from the driveway. An ideal place for a memorable, atmospheric photo straight from the trail.

It was created as a result of flooding a former gravel pit and today serves as a free recreational swimming area. The water here has a pleasant temperature, and the grassy banks offer a brilliant, postcard-worthy panorama of the vertical walls of the Koschuta range. An ideal place to detour from the route, enjoy a regenerative rest by the water, and on warm days, take a quick swim before continuing your ride.

From the bridge leading across the Drau, you get imposing views and vistas of the Drau and the surrounding mountain world. A real eye-catcher is the "Nepomuk Statue" in the middle of the bridge, which looks like the "Drau Angel".

A small lake that can be easily cycled around. In the northern area, an official cycle path runs alongside the main road, while in the southern area there is a forest path to cycle, which is only a bit "tricky" in one spot. Along the forest path, some natural bathing spots invite you to dive into the lake.
