The hikers' lodge is suitable as a base for hikes and bike tours on the Großer Heuberg, in the Oberes Donautal, in the Bäratal, and on the Südwestalb. The immediate surroundings of the hikers' lodge are extremely varied with small heathlands, woodlands, meadows, and fields.
