The Filsenberg (805.4 m above sea level) is a mountain in the Swabian Alb south of Öschingen, a district of Mössingen in Baden-Württemberg. Parts of the mountain are a nature reserve. The dry meadow on the treeless Filsenberg plateau has been a protected nature reserve since 1983 due to the rare plants growing there (orchids, cat's-foot, martagon lilies, gentians, etc.). The 35.8-hectare Filsenberg nature reserve is part of the Middle Swabian Alb natural region. Dry grasslands, matgrass meadows, and fringe communities characterize the landscape. The purpose of the reserve is to preserve the high meadows with their diverse flora and fauna while largely avoiding the application of fertilizers and nutrient inputs.
