Nice resting spot on the Zuckerbahnradweg cycle path

I did exactly what Dirk described. I took the train from Jena to Camburg and then cycled along the Zuckerbahn cycle path. After a slight climb, the path becomes very flat and has many crossings over more or less busy roads. Of course, there are also many bridges. Orientation was sometimes difficult, but my intuition helped. Zeitz is very beautiful, but finding the Elster cycle path to Gera from there isn't easy. Still doable. 😁 Highly recommended.

The Elster Bridge is a seven-arch bridge and a technical cultural monument from the late 19th century.

There are some good, covered rest areas along the Zuckerbahn cycle path, and good asphalt. You're away from traffic. Otherwise, it's a typical railway cycle path…straight ahead and no view. Trees and bushes on the left and right. Practical. 😅

After crossing the railway line at the call barrier, you'll find strength, peace, and relaxation at the weir. Relax and listen to the sound of the water while observing nature and the animals.

The area was cleared of bushes, and since then they have been clearly visible.
