Very friendly - even though it was closed, I was allowed to use the terrace as shelter for over an hour and eat what I had brought with me.

In the village of Kneese, in the middle of the Schaalsee Biosphere Reserve, Jochen Schwarz's Kneese cider press has been in business since 2009. It is known for its natural juice from local orchards and is a point of contact for locals during the fruit harvest, who can have their fruit pressed into juice here. With a small distillery, the range also includes fine spirits. For more information: www.kernobstmanufaktur.de
