The half-timbered church in Luckow (Vorpommern-Greifswald) was built between 1724 and 1726 as a Baroque wood and clay structure. Since 1996, a comprehensive restoration has brought the historic charm of the interior back to life. The simple yet elegant design, with its polygonal eastern end, half-timbered tower, and two-story entrance porch, characterizes the exterior. Inside, there is a flat-roofed hall, a pulpit altar, two oil paintings of old pastors, and a votive ship from the time the church was built – the oldest of its kind in Eastern Germany. The church enjoys an idyllic and tranquil setting, nestled in the Western Pomerania landscape – an ideal spot for a short rest or photo stop during a tour around Ueckermünde or into the Ueckermünde Heath.

The border crossing at Rieth is closed! There's no way back to Germany from Poland! We had to take a detour of about 25 kilometers to get back to Germany at the next border crossing!

An impressive cycle path through a primeval forest. One of the most beautiful sections on the entire Oder-Neisse Cycle Path!

A fabulous path through the forest with tall, blanketing ferns. The path is very well paved and suitable for any bike. An absolute must!!!

A fairly long gravel road. Many old signs from the former railway are still visible. Highly recommended.
