The former watermill near Edesbüttel is a historical site that is now mainly characterized by the massive landscape changes of the 20th century (canal construction). If you stand there today, you have to use a little imagination to imagine the old hustle and bustle. There is hardly anything left of the original mill on site today. The site was heavily modified during the construction of the Mittelland Canal (around 1930) and later by the construction of the Elbe Lateral Canal (1970s).

The main house looks impressive, the grounds are private and not accessible, but from what you can see it is a very nice property.

A watermill once stood here at the Hehlenriede. Now only a sign and an old grinding stone show the location.

A cycle path leads partly around the manor. The estate is a little way from this path and because of the vegetation it is more or less visible.
