The defensive walls, with a total length of about 580 meters, with the Bańska Gate and five bastion towers, have been preserved to this day. Currently, the best-preserved section of the fortifications is in the southeastern corner of the city. It is about 70 meters long and 4 meters high. Two fragments of the wall on both sides of Bolesław Chrobry street have also survived on the northern edge of the Old Town. The preserved Bańska Gate remains the symbol of the city.

The steel bridge, built between 1911–1913, was rebuilt in 1955 after wartime destruction. It is equipped with a lifting span, which is rarely used today. It runs about 5 meters above the water level.
