Here you can spend the night in the former machine towers or old railway carriages. Very idyllic and quiet. So ideal for stage runs. But because of the proximity to water, there are also lots of insects. First and foremost, there are mosquitoes. They make sitting outside in the evenings a nuisance.

This transformer station, painted with motifs and the coat of arms of Kienitz, is located on the village square on Friedhofsstrasse. This is interesting because I initially couldn't assign one of the motifs to the "Kienitzer Strickbauern". It was only later at the harbor that I realized the connection with the “Golden Deer”. Information about this can be found at: http://www.kienitz-du.de/strickbauer.html

Erna Roder (1916 to 2007) was a German painter who lived and worked in Kienitz. She worked in hospitals, old people's homes and communities for over 30 years, most recently in Hoerstgen on the Lower Rhine and moved to Kienitz im Oderbruch in 1965 to work as a pastor's wife. After her husband's death in 1981, she began painting to raise money to rebuild her church. Erna Roder only painted motifs from her own perspective. In this respect, she did not rely on role models. The works she created arose solely from her. The painting of the stone figures on Amselweg opposite the Kienitz store is also attributed to the painter Erna Roder, according to an article on the web under "Cultural Heritage Places in the Oderbruch", Kienitz World War Memorial Ensemble (https://www.kulturerbe-oderbruch.de/orte/denkmalensemble -world wars-kienitz). Unfortunately there is no information board on the figures and the external condition is also quite bad.
