It is considered one of the most beautiful and important half-timbered houses of Henneberg-Franconian architecture in the region. The striking house has an L-shape and dominates the square in the old town of Themar. The building was rebuilt in 1665 after the Thirty Years' War. It has two large floors with visible half-timbering. The house has a high gable roof and ornate architectural decorations. It is considered an architectural highlight directly on the market square. In the past, the tourist information office was also located here, but it has since moved to the nearby town hall. Today, the distinctive building primarily serves as a historic city and photo motif.

The Henneberg Museum Kloster Veßra is a 6-hectare open-air museum showcasing the history of the monastery, half-timbered architecture, the everyday history of the people of the Henneberg region, and agricultural technology. The museum grounds and the monastery buildings of the Premonstratensian Order are owned by the Thuringian Palaces and Gardens Foundation.
