St. John's Church in Wirsberg has been built three times. The oldest parts of the church date back to the 12th century. The second building was completed in 1646, and the third, its current form, in 1746. Worth seeing: The pulpit altar is a white marbled wooden structure. A special feature is the oil painting "The Ten Commandments" hanging in the church. Its style and color scheme are reminiscent of the circle of Lucas Cranach. https://www.wirsberg.de/buergerservice-rathaus/kirchen

The present church stands where the monastery once stood. Friedrich von Sparneck, the monastery's founder, was buried here as early as 1477. The church at Sparneck was not very large and probably had a wooden tower on the roof. It only attained its present dimensions in 1695. The old monastery church now forms the choir of the enlarged church. A devastating fire largely destroyed the church on May 5, 1845. Reconstruction dragged on until 1861 and gave the church its present neo-Gothic appearance.
