Quiet road from Gerholz to Weitnau and from there a side road signposted as a cycle path to Seltmanns and with a snack spot that is shady depending on the time of day. Given the valley location, the view is limited.

This is one of my favorite spots, even without a bench. The only downside is the changeable Allgäu weather, which means it's rarely perfect, although the clouds do have their charm.

I've ridden here many times from Hellengerst to Weitnau and back, and the route is simply fantastic, also because few cars come. The climb at Engelwarz is tough and only really flattens out at Hellengerst. It's about 1.5 km and certainly counts as a sporty climb.
