For me, the most important thing is what Michael writes about the Iller Cycle Path. It's boring, with lots of forested stretches and no view. It's only usable from Immenstadt onward. The Günz Valley Cycle Path is varied, but it can get crowded on weekends.

Typical Allgäu, you need a bit of luck with the mountain views. So far, it's been decent for me.

This church immediately caught my eye – it's Romanesque. The simple architecture is impressive, and the fact that it has been preserved that way over the centuries is impressive. Inside – I didn't go inside/I only read about it – it was expanded in the Baroque style. Here's an excerpt from Wikipedia: The first parish church in Engetried was mentioned as early as the mid-12th century. The choir and nave of the existing church, however, date from the 15th century. The church tower was built later, probably around 1500. The date 1728 is inscribed on the sacristy portal. This probably refers to the redesign of the vault and the interior layout of the choir. The church was redesigned in the Baroque style in the 18th century. Abbot Anselm Erb of Ottobeuren Monastery completed this with the stuccoing and frescoing around 1757.
