A lovely little town on the Inn River, with Penny and Edeka right in town, and Netto just outside. There's also a rare opportunity to cross the Inn River here!

In front of the Simbach Inn Bridge, the Inn god Aenus, a modern bronze sculpture by the sculptor Dominik Dengl, greets passers-by today - at least those who come from the Bavarian side. Aenus is sticking his backside out towards the Austrians, which earned the artist Dengl some criticism when it was installed in 2008. In the meantime, the waves have calmed down. What only a few people know: a representative bridge portal stood at this spot until 1945. The old bridge was built from granite between 1892 and 1894 and had a five-arched iron structure as the superstructure.
