The approximately 40-hectare Bredenbeker Teich was originally created by Cistercian monks as a fishpond before being converted into a popular public lido from 1930 onwards. The historic country estate "Lindenhof" was built on the western grounds in 1919 and has served over time as, among other things, a rural women's college and a destination for excursions. Today, a spacious campsite, a golf club, and idyllic hiking trails characterize the historically rich natural landscape around the body of water.

The path with the tall avenue trees 🌳🌳🌳 is magical 💫. It feels sooo nice to cycle through here 🚴♀️. Looking to the right, you look at the pond.

When you come from the city, this is the first nice spot where you can get some distance in. Plus, beautiful scenery all around.

The path is not particularly special for cyclists, quite bumpy. It is located in a swamp or moorland area, after heavy rainfall it may not be passable - I have experienced that.

The Alster stretches from Kayhude down to the Außenalster. In some places, even trout are native to the Alster!

It's interesting to imagine how people used to get here to bathe. It must have been really busy here back then. Besides, Maya the Bee was invented here. Unfortunately, the campsite had to close its natural swimming pool...
