Henstedt-Ulzburg station is a low-lying railway station in Henstedt-Ulzburg, Schleswig-Holstein. The station was opened on September 8, 1884 as part of the Altona-Kaltenkirchen connection as Ulzburg station. The railway transported many agricultural and industrial goods, the station contributed greatly to the development of the community. As early as the 1920s, plans were made to move the railway line to the west so that the busy streets would not be crossed so frequently. In the 1960s, plans were again made to move the railway line west around Ulzburg in order to end the separation of the town into two parts (there were seven railway crossings); The train station should also be relocated. In 1994, the state finally agreed to a lowering of the AKN and a new Ulzburg station for 160 million marks. From 1997, the route west of Hamburger Straße was lowered to a depth of two kilometers (including a 630 m long tunnel) and disappeared from the townscape. It was expanded to two lanes and a low-lying station including a roof structure was built about 400 m north of the old one. In 2001, the new station was inaugurated as "Bahnhof Henstedt-Ulzburg". This eliminated all level crossings. The route is operated by the AKN (Altona-Kaltenkirchen-Neumünster Eisenbahn). Source: Wikipedia
