The Catholic parish church of St. Ulrich in Stockheim, a district of Brackenheim (Heilbronn district, Baden-Württemberg), looks back on a history of over 700 years. It is considered an architectural and historical peculiarity, as it represents the town as a Catholic enclave in the otherwise Protestant-influenced Zabergäu region.

Schloss Stocksberg is a striking Renaissance castle of the Teutonic Order, located in the Stockheim district of Brackenheim. It towers visibly far and wide on a spur of the Heuchelberg above the Zabergäu. Under the Deutschmeister Heinrich von Bobenhausen, the destroyed complex was rebuilt as a two-winged Renaissance castle. The main building and the striking, approximately 30-meter-high staircase tower (former keep) date from this period. In 2007, the Layer family (Layer scaffolding) acquired the property and had it extensively restored. The complex is privately owned and not normally open to the public. However, it can be rented for conferences, meetings, and events. It also occasionally opens its doors for cultural events such as ParkTräume Schloss Stocksberg.

The town center and village square in Haberschlach (an idyllic wine village part of Brackenheim) are significantly shaped by the historic wine press square. The most striking building in the town center was built in 1837 and today serves as the central venue for local events and festivals. Directly at the Alte Kelter (Old Wine Press) is the Mann-im-Fass-Skulptur (Man in the Barrel Sculpture), which symbolizes the deep roots of the place in Württemberg winegrowing.

I was stationed at the Nike site in the 60s. I had enlisted for missiles but I always got office jobs because I could type. I got 495 out of 500 on a driving test. I was docked 5 points because I didn’t back up a trailer fast enough around a corner on wet pavement.
