The chapel is open to visitors. Paintings on the wall depict Jesus's Stations of the Cross. The 2-km-long Retschter MundArt circular hiking trail also begins in front of the chapel. Behind the church, under shady trees, there's a bench for those who want to take a break.

Maria im Grünen Tal, one of the oldest pilgrimage churches (14th century) in the diocese of Würzburg with a smiling Madonna of Grace in the choir. The building that now serves as the choir probably once represented the entire chapel building. In 1622 a nave was added. Significant structural changes took place in 1968/1969: After the old nave collapsed on a stormy night, it was rebuilt twice as large, laying the foundation for a revival of the Retzbach pilgrimage, which is now one of the liveliest in the diocese. The charm of the Retzbach pilgrimage church probably also lies in the unique location of the place: “It is embedded in nature. Added to this is the special atmosphere in the pilgrimage church, which exudes generosity and conveys a sense of security at the same time. All of this culminates in the miraculous image of the smiling Mother of God: "This smile is particularly beautiful when it is illuminated by the sun in the evening," says Monsignor Postler. "A smile that radiates joy and confidence!" This is exactly what the full-blooded pastor wants to give people - "hope, comfort and strength for everyday life". Because: "We humans need places of comfort like Mary in the Green Valley!" Behind the church, a cool, shaded Stations of the Cross stretch through the forest up the mountain. The path was consecrated in 1880 and consists of 14 stations in the Gothic style made of red sandstone. Finally, the Marienbrünnchen spring lies idyllically behind the pilgrimage church, the water of which is said to have healing properties. /www.fraenkisches-weinland.de/poi/wallfahrtskirche_maria_im_grue-15930/
