This bridge is very useful between Kakenstorf and Tostedt, but unfortunately it is now very dilapidated.

The Este makes a bend here. From a bench you have a very nice view.

The Este, here it is still relatively calm and not so wide. That will change. It is navigable by kayak from Hollenstedt, but you have to be careful under the bridges. You will usually sit on large stones. After Moisburg it is no longer a problem and you can paddle to Buxtehude or even to the Elbe. This is an adventure that you will never forget - lots of nature and a different perspective from the water.

The Todtglüsinger Bach rises in a meadow area east of Tostedt and flows into the Este from the left at the Tostedt sewage treatment plant. At this point the hiking trail leads through private property straight to a farm with Scottish Highland cattle. Pedestrians and cyclists are allowed to pass 👍.

The bridge over the Este near the Kakenstorf school camp, which was opened in 2015, is located at the southern beginning of the boardwalk through the Este floodplain near Kakenstorf. A sign on the bridge railing refers to the carpentry company Broocks from Neuenkirchen, OT Grauen, which carried out the work. Sometimes "horror has many faces", this one is definitely positive 👍😀.

A wonderful path along the Este valley. The river and landscape are still largely untouched. In many places there are wonderful views over the valley
