The small "village shop with heart," with its indoor and outdoor café area in the village community center in the tranquil village of Herzhausen, is a wonderful meeting place for the locals. Regional goods, as well as some other groceries and fresh fruit, are available for purchase here. I especially like the fact that they also offer small, unwrapped sweets in glass containers for 6 cents each. This way, the children can assemble their own sweets for little money and happily carry them home in small paper bags or eat them on the go. Adults also meet there from time to time to shop or have a coffee and a chat. The shop is run by volunteers and has been very well received by the residents. Simply fantastic!

In front of the village community center with the "Dorfladen mit Herz" (village shop with heart), this map provides a good overview of the two hiking trails, the "Walderlebnistour" (Forest Adventure Tour) (D3) and the 5.1 km "Geschwisterchen" (Little Sister). Flyers and the first part of the story for children can also be found here.
