Documented as early as the 13th century, it experienced turbulent times as a Hungarian border fortress before being expanded to its characteristic form in the 16th and 17th centuries: Striking round towers with mighty conical roofs define its exterior today. In addition to the well-known festivals, the castle is also a venue for concerts, exhibitions, and seminars. Parts of the castle, along with the garden, can be rented for conferences, celebrations, and weddings. Guided tours are also possible by appointment.

It's certainly interesting to taste mineral water from the spring. It takes some getting used to, but not bad for my taste.

Kobersdorf has a natural wealth of mineral water. Two springs emerge in Elisabeth Park; the older one has been active for more than a century, the second spring was drilled in 1969. The widely known Kobersdorf mineral water is an excellent acidic water, a health fountain and can be drunk directly from the spring. Doctors recommend free drinking cures, especially for kidney and bladder problems, stomach and intestinal diseases, but also for detoxification.

The Kobersdorf Jewish Cemetery is probably one of the most impressive and “beautiful” Jewish cemeteries in Austria. A forest cemetery with around 650 gravestones today, which, like all Jewish cemeteries in Burgenland, have exclusively Hebrew gravestone inscriptions. Originally, there were around 1,400 gravestones in the cemetery.

Thanks to the village for the drinking water at the rest area and the beautiful surroundings. After visiting Lánzséri castle in 36 degrees, we were grateful. Among the World War II monuments, this is the most beautiful I have seen so far.

Kobersdorf Castle was built around 1528 from a medieval castle. In 1683 the complex was taken by the Turks and partially destroyed. After years of decay, the castle was bought and renovated by an architect in 1963. Today it is owned by her daughter and can only be viewed during events.
