Since the beginning of 2018, ten horseshoe sculptures have been erected in the Weiz-Gleisdorf energy region as part of the LEADER project "Kunst.Hot.Spot." The total project volume amounts to €85,500, 60 percent of which is funded by LEADER funds. It all began in the municipality of Naas with the ceremonial opening of a Styrian panther in July 2018. Eight more horseshoe sculptures followed in the municipalities of Thannhausen, Puch bei Weiz, St. Ruprecht an der Raab, Hofstätten an der Raab, Mitterdorf an der Raab, Mortantsch, Gleisdorf, and Weiz. The ten sculptures represent a Styrian panther. Panther with municipal coat of arms (Naas), mother cow with calf (Thannhausen), apple with heart (Puch), book and viola (St. Ruprecht/R.), squirrel (Hofstätten), municipal coat of arms in 3D (Mitterdorf), mouflon (Mortantsch), Styrian panther with municipal logo (Gleisdorf), Weiz "W," and the Styrian panther with apple. An overview can be found here: https://www.energieregion.at/kunst-hot-spots-uebersicht/ Five fingers on one hand shows the result of the 6th horseshoe sculpture of the LEADER project "Kunst.Hot.Spots" in the municipality of Mitterdorf an der Raab. The sculpture's artist, Sascha Exenberger, is proud: "Making an arm out of horseshoes was quite a challenge and required four weeks of preparation. A lot of time went into considering how to realize the sculpture. But once I had the finished image in mind, everything went very smoothly. The sculpture is now 320 cm tall and weighs approximately 320 kg." The other horseshoe sculptures in the energy region: The Styrian Panther (Naas), a cow with a calf (Thannhausen), an apple with a heart (Puch bei Weiz), a songbook with a viola (St. Ruprecht/Raab), and a squirrel (Hofstätten/Raab)

The Calvary of St. Ruprecht an der Raab stretches across the hills north of the market town. Along wayside shrines with Stations of the Cross, created by the Seckau goldsmith Brother Bernward Schmid in 1972, one reaches the Calvary Church in Breitegg. The Stations of the Cross from St. Ruprecht to Breitegg were in critical structural condition before 1972. Plaster was crumbling, roofs were leaking and needed replacing. Crosses were leaning and had to be straightened. The Stations of the Cross were built in 1844 and were originally decorated with frescoes. In 1972, at the request of Pastor Egger, 15 enamel panels depicting the Passion of Jesus were installed in place of the paintings. A huge thank you goes to the people who continue to care for the crosses.

Located directly on the R11 cycle path in the middle of St. Ruprecht. Small but fine menu with dishes at reasonable prices. Daily specials Monday to Friday. The house cake and cardinal slice were delicious and are recommended.

The small Raab Gorge is the habitat of many rare species. These include, for example, dippers and yellow-bellied toads. For the latter there is a specially created spawning ground, in the vicinity of which one should move cautiously, especially during the spawning season in spring. The gorge is particularly beautiful when it is full of vegetation in spring and summer.
