The Marian column standing here in the village square not far from the church was erected in 1891 by a local shooting society. After the First World War, the statue of the Virgin Mary was gilded by returning soldiers. At the same time, a memorial plaque for the fallen was attached to the base of the column.

A massive church for the size of the village with an unusually beautiful interior. I usually only know such things from pilgrimage churches. A visit is worthwhile. During my hike (Sept. 2026), the church was open and freely accessible.

I got a Melange here at the end of my hike in beautiful weather. Great beer garden, nice view at the swimming lake and the Melange also tasted excellent. Only drawback: The restaurant is only open - outside the bathing season - depending on the weather.

A really, really big meadow of fritillaries. Wonderful. And, as flowers tend to be: The best time to experience them in bloom is the weeks before Easter.
