Plenty of space, even after 9 a.m. on Sundays 👍. There are only 40 spaces at parking lot 1, and there's a digital display at the roundabout that indicates whether it's full. The walk from parking lot 2 to 1 takes about 30 minutes, but it goes through the beautiful mountain village and past the stream. Sunscreen recommended.

You'll hardly encounter any hikers here, as most take the well-trodden path down into the valley. Be careful, to get down to Mautstatt, don't miss the turnoff from the forest road to the left shortly after the Ranerwand summit (which is slightly above the forest road). There's a stick there marking the turnoff. Or just check the komoot map... ;-)

Great view of the valley, especially in autumn when the colored leaves contrast with the dark green conifers.

The entrance to the Bärenschützklamm near Mixnitz leads you through an impressive gorge with limestone walls up to 300 meters high. Dogs are not allowed and it is recommended to hike the gorge with children from around 7 years of age. The Bärenschützklamm is currently closed**, but will reopen in August 2024.
