The rock castle lies at the foot of the Samnaun group and towers on a vertical slate rock high above the Oberinntal. The residential tower was built in the early Middle Ages and first mentioned in documents in 1239.

The Wodeturm rises majestically at 1,487 meters above sea level and towers over the area above Ladis and Neuegg. On its two levels, it offers a breathtaking view of the surrounding mountain scenery, the Kaunertal, the Inntal and the opposite village of Fließ with its striking St. Barbara Church.
