The Lochmühle, first mentioned in writing in the mid-14th century, is one of Ulm's oldest mills and was in operation for approximately 600 years until 1922. Today it is the oldest preserved mill building in Ulm and houses a highly recommended restaurant with a lovely beer garden.

The Lochmühle is one of the oldest mills in Ulm. The historic building, located on the Blau River tributary of the Danube, was first documented in 1346. In 1977, the historic building was transformed into the "Zur Lochmühle" inn. The large mill wheel was installed in its original location and is now the unmistakable landmark of the inn, located directly on the Blau River. Since 1987, the Schubert family has operated this cozy old town restaurant with its popular beer garden.
