At this point, you pass a sign reading "Beschertes Glück" (Blessed Luck), which in the 19th century was still an open-cast mine for iron ore and iron pyrite.

The meadow was originally created in 1995 by the AWO (AWO Association of German Fruit Tree Producers) to celebrate its 75th anniversary with the planting of 75 fruit trees of various species. On October 24, a delegation from the AWO took the opportunity to donate two additional large apple trees and ceremoniously plant them. In addition, Peter Strobl and his volunteers, along with some hardworking helpers from other parts of the city—observing all social distancing rules, of course—worked to prepare the orchard for the coming season. The last gaps in the bird hedge in the west and north were closed by planting four larger hedge shrubs.
