The Dinkel is a small, idyllic river that flows, among other places, through the Lutterzand nature reserve in the Netherlands. The official Dinkel spring is located in Bauerschaft Höven in the municipality of Rosendahl (Coesfeld district), about two kilometers south of the district of Holtwick. From there, the river first flows through Münsterland (passing Legden, Heek, and Gronau, among others), then crosses into the Netherlands (where it flows through the aforementioned Lutterzand and near Denekamp, among others), flows briefly back into Germany (Lower Saxony) once more, and finally flows into the Vechte near Neuenhaus.
