Rescue in steep terrain: New mountain rescue station inaugurated in Albstadt was standing July 31, 2022 A machine hall for three vehicles, a modern radio center and plenty of space: the DRK Bergwacht Zollernalb is happy about its new station in Albstadt-Tailfingen. After a good year of construction, the Zollernalb mountain rescue service has moved into its new home. The two-story building is not only modern but also spacious. A machine hall offers space for the three emergency vehicles. The emergency services should also be able to practice here in the future: a climbing wall and a cable car are still being installed. The station offers a large lounge where, for example, theory lessons for rescue workers take place. Anyone who is on call can stay overnight and shower in the house. There are storage rooms for sufficient medical and technical equipment. A modern radio control center was also installed. A lot of personal initiative was required on the construction site: wherever possible, the 65 volunteer members lent a hand themselves. New mountain rescue station building is a “milestone” The regional head of the Württemberg mountain rescue service spoke of a “milestone” at the inauguration of the new station. In the past, mountain rescue services received too little financial support. Now a new building has been opened for the first time in 30 years. The state of Baden-Württemberg covered most of the costs of over 600,000 euros. Source: https://www.swr.de/swraktuell/baden-wuerttemberg/tuebingen/bergrettungswache-albstadt-tailfingen-104.html

The Protestant chapel church in the Spitalhof was the protected church within the fortifications in the medieval city. The chapel church was founded in 1382 - as a Lady Chapel in the heart of the city. A replica of the original Pietà shows Mary with her dead son. In 1477 the church burned down in a city fire. The current building dates from 1490 and was renovated and saved from decay at the beginning of the 19th century and again after the Second World War. The “small” chapel church is still the wedding church of many Ebingen couples today and offers a beautiful setting for church concerts. The chapel church is open on Saturday mornings between Easter and the summer holidays for the so-called market music (these are small concerts at market time at 11 a.m.). There are no longer any regular church services. The Protestant chapel church in Albstadt-Ebingen is on the route of the city walk.
