Since September 2019, a dragon sculpture has stood on the central island of the roundabout at the Wachtberg shopping center, which Willi Reiche constructed with seven students from the Hans-Dietrich-Genscher-Schule in Berkum (profiled community comprehensive school, grade 10) and their art teacher Monika Düren, as well as two upper secondary school students from the Aloisiuskolleg, from an iron framework and vast amounts of grass clippings. The school project was initiated by the Association for the Promotion of Art and Culture in Wachtberg e.V. (KuKiWa) on the occasion of the 50th anniversary of the municipality of Wachtberg. The dragon sculpture clearly stands out from the artist's usual work, as on the one hand no kinetics are involved, and on the other hand, the three-dimensional realization of the heraldic animal is characterized by a very naturalistic representation. In a public session of the Wachtberg municipal council at the end of June 2021, it was unanimously decided that the Wachtberg dragon should bear the name "Godart von Wachtberg", after its historical namesake, the knight "Godart de Drachenvels". https://willi-reiche.de/wachtberger-drache/
