The Geiselstein is jokingly referred to as the "North Pole of the Vogelsberg" because it is often significantly cooler and windier here than in the surrounding valleys. The basalt columns naturally contain magnetic minerals – which is why compasses are said to occasionally "tremble" slightly or drift a bit here. A quiet, mystical place with a true high-altitude atmosphere.

A small, unassuming, but historic spring on the western slope of the Vogelsberg mountains. This is the source of the Nidda River, which flows for approximately 90 km before passing through Bad Vilbel and Frankfurt. An idyllic spot in the woods, usually quiet and surrounded by mossy greenery – perfect for a short break on your hike. 💧🌲

Hike with plenty of shade, mostly in the forest. Only at the beginning and the end is the walk in open space. The three ponds are particularly beautiful. Here you can rest and enjoy yourself.
