The island with its great mythology also has a story about this watchtower. The Torre des Verger (Catalan) is also called the Torre de ses Ànimes, Tower of Souls, by locals. There are reports of numerous suicides at this site without the bodies of the dead being found, of people disappearing without a trace, strange shadows and children walking through walls. The Torre del Verger (castelan) was still used for military purposes even under Franco's rule. When one of the Francoist soldiers was standing guard in the tower at night, a woman dressed entirely in white approached. He called to her to stop, but she did not react and came closer and closer. Finally he opened fire. The projectiles penetrated her body without harming her and she continued to run towards him. Paralyzed with sheer terror, he leaned against the wall and felt the figure pass through him and disappear through the wall. When the guard changed, his comrades found him crouched on the ground, trembling and as pale as a sheet.

Definitely one of the most stunning views, when it suddenly reveals itself after the last bulge.
